Kevin Whitehouse’s passion for fastpitch softball began in 1995 when he started playing men’s fastpitch in Yakima, Washington. After more than a decade of playing, Kevin began coaching in 2010—and he hasn’t looked back.
His coaching journey began with Little League, where he helped multiple teams compete at the district and state levels. In 2016, Kevin joined WA Freedom Fastpitch as a coach and Vice President. During his time with Freedom, he helped develop athletes both on and off the field while supporting numerous players as they pursued their dreams of playing college softball.
Kevin expanded his coaching experience to the high school level in 2017 when he became an assistant coach at Kentwood High School, helping the program reach the state tournament. He later served as an assistant coach at Rogers High School from 2019–2020.
In 2023, Kevin joined Highline College Softball as an assistant coach. One year later, he took over the program as Head Coach, bringing with him a passion for player development, recruiting, competition, and building a culture centered around family, accountability, hard work, and having fun.
As Head Coach, Kevin is focused on building Highline into a program where student-athletes can develop their skills, compete at a high level, succeed academically, and pursue opportunities to continue their softball careers beyond Highline.
With a talented coaching staff beside him, Kevin is committed to creating an environment where athletes are challenged to become better players, better teammates, and better people—and where they can chase their goals both on the field and in the classroom. The goal is simple: build something special at Highline and bring Highline College Softball back to the NWAC Championship.
