Freshmen Take Lumps While Learning the College Game

Keira Lonn looks to return after spraining her ankle in Highline's second game.
Nov. 30 - The Women's team, completely comprised of first-year players, is taking its lumps as the players adjust to the college game. The squad stands at 1-3 in the early season, with its win coming in overtime against Everett College.

The team suffers from the shooting woes and turnovers that that often affect young teams. There are some promising signs, however. The team continues to play hard under Head Coach Emil Swain and has found some scoring with Jeralynn Sevaaetasi and Nevaeh Richardson averaging 10.3 and 9.5 points per game respectively. Richardson is also leading the team with 8.8 rebounds per game while Sequoia Lopez leads the team with 2.5 assists per game while averaging 5.8 rebounds.

The team has some time off before participating in the Edmonds Crossover Tournament Dec. 12-14. The team returns home on Dec. 17th to take on Skagit Valley College.
